History: Originates from the region Catalonia, Spain, and were created in the late 1800's. They were publicly shown in 1902 and accepted into APA Standard in 1949.
Additional Notes: Although almost nonexistent in North America, this chicken is very popular in Central and South America and still recognized in the American Standard of Perfection. Also referred to as the Catalana del Prat Lleonada or just Prat.
